Often seen in Austrian maps of the world.

Classifications

Graticule

Meridians: Sinusoidal curves up to latitude ±80° and ellipsoidal curves at higher latitudes.
Parallels: Straight, with variable spacing generally increasing away from the equator.
Pole: A line about 37% the width of the equator.

Distortion

No point is undistorted. Distortion is fairly evenly balanced between areal and angular in the tropics and toward the poles; away from those areas, angular distortion dominates.
