Parallels: Unequally spaced straight parallel lines. Perpendicular to the central meridian.

Scale

Correct along 37°28′N/S parallels. Constant along any given latitude; same for the latitude of opposite sign.

Distortion

Free of distortion only at 37°28′N/S on central meridian. Distortion is low along equator and most of the central meridian up to mid latitudes.

Similar projections

Similar to sinusoidal, Craster parabolic, many others.
