Graticule

Meridians: Straight, evenly spaced.
Parallels: Straight, with spacing slightly greater reality at the equator and slowly increasing away from it. At about ±60°, the trend reverses until spacing reaches correct at about ±81°. At higher latitudes, spacing is too small.

Distortion

Every point on the map is distorted. Both areal and angular distortion are low near the equator and increase gradually toward the poles.

Origin

Designed by Tom Patterson and formulated by Bojan Šavrič and Bernhard Jenny in 2015.
