Create a custom/local LCC Projection

Post by hiwire03 »

For a given boundary of latitude and longitude, how do i construct a Lambert Conformal Conic projection?

I do not have any other information besides the binding graticule values. I want the projection parameters by entering the binding latitude and longitudes.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Most texts recommend setting standard parallels at about 1/6th inward from the bounding parallels. For example, if your outer parallels were 20° and 50°, then you’d set the standard parallels at 25° and 45°. This is a reasonable way to estimate for most uses of the LCC. If you need something more precise, the calculations get a little involved.

Does this help?
