I'm a Geocart 3 user and I am planning on purchasing a Retina MacBook Pro. Does Geocart support the Retina display? If not, are there any plans to add support? HiDPI and maps seem like an ideal fit.
TIA
Will
HiDPI/Retina Support
Re: HiDPI/Retina Support
Hello Will. Thanks for the note.
Congratulations on being the first to request Retina Display support! It’s a dubious honor. It means, no, Geocart does not support the high resolution mode. It relies on compatibility, in which it works fine.
We expect to add support as Retina Displays become more common for desktop machines. Now that someone has actually asked for it, its priority has hereby increased.
Best,

Re: HiDPI/Retina Support
Thanks for the update.
While HiDPI displays have been rare outside MacBook Pros, I'd expect them to start turning up on PCs too soon, especially now Windows 8.1 has better support for scaling. There are also some, admittedly very expensive, HiDPI desktop appearing on the market now: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7157/asus ... tor-review
I look forward to viewing my maps in high-resolution splendour at some point
Cheers,
Will
