Allow me to chime in here. Geocart is one of the few small developer-owed apps the Apple hasn't driven out of existence and I love to use it knowing that there actually IS someone behind it that has my back. I use Geocart on a daily basis on a M2 Mac running Ventura and don't know how long it will be before I'll need to upgrade my operating system or install a partition for Sonoma.

Eek. I missed this posting. Sorry about that. I do not know the answer to this. Historically I have used VMWare Fusion, but I haven’t tried that yet on Apple Silicon.Atarimaster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 7:09 am Do you konw if Geocart is compatible to Windows 11 on Arm? I’m asking because you need this in order to run Windows with the help of Parallels Desktop on a Mac.

Thanks, Joe. I have decided to work on this, but at a pace that won’t burn me out. That implies a long time away yet.Joe LeMonnier wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 3:59 am Allow me to chime in here. YAY! Daan! Many thanks!!

Indeed, hooray. I intend to remain quietly patient and ready to buy a brand-new license when the time comes.
I only use a small fraction of GeoCart capabilities, but happy to help test if that would be useful.

No problem at all!
Meanwhile, I bought a Mac mini M4. I haven’t worked exhaustively with Geocart since, but as far as I can tell, everything runs finde under macOS Sequoia except for the two dialogues mentioned by the OP. But they still take numerical inputs so mostly, it’s merely an inconvenience for me that the graphics showing the results are kaput. Moreover, my old Mac mini is still here in my office and, should the need arise, I can set the projection center and boundaries there. Thanks to Apple’s built-in Screen Sharing, there’s not even a monitor connected to the old computer.

Re: Display problem on M1 Mac
Tobias,
Thanks for the confirmation. I recently acquired an Apple Silicon laptop, so, if I get the desire, I can test things out more thoroughly. I haven’t seen any trouble running in emulation mode that doesn’t also exist in the newest versions of macOS on Intel hardware, so I conclude that the emulation is quite faithful.
Someday, far in the future when I can produce a functioning binary on Macs again, I’ll be able to test against the raw metal.
