What projection should I use to duplicate the Ordnance Survey maps?? I'm doing very detailed maps of Dublin. I understand it is a form of Transverse Mercator .
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Hello Joe. It’s good to hear from you again.
You’ll need the ellipsoidal Transverse Mercator, but beyond that, it depends on when the map was produced. OS maps for Ireland historically were on their own grid. Do you have that information?

The wiki page says a Transverse Mercator
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_gri ... nce_system
I tried your suggestion of Ellispoidal and it worked, it seemed. They map was tilted quite a bit but that's easy to fix.
MANY THANKS for the quick response. How are you doing?
I'm fine here, wife and kids are fine, work is fine.
One more question: I'm going to be buying a new Mac next year that will run Ventura on an M1 chip. Does this pose any problems for Geocart?

Of course Daniel Strebe can give the best answer to this question. However, I went and looked at his web page for Geocart, and as it's referred to as a "64-bit native application" for certain Intel Macs (although it does say "and later") I would be inclined to assume that ARM binaries for the newer Macintosh computers do not yet exist, and so you would only be able to run Geocart using the provided compatibility features.Joe LeMonnier wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 5:45 amOne more question: I'm going to be buying a new Mac next year that will run Ventura on an M1 chip. So definitely you should be cautious until you hear otherwise from Daniel himself.

That’s right. I don’t have Apple Silicon hardware to test against yet (haven’t been motivated), but indications from customers who do have the hardware are that Geocart runs without problems.quadibloc wrote:Wed Nov 23, 2022 10:44 pm you would only be able to run Geocart using the provided compatibility features.
