Image pixel error and boundary coincidence problem

Post by arspirit »

Hi, Daan

Very happy to join this forums, I like it very much map design, I found the following issues in the process of drawing, please take a look at how to solve this problem.

There are two pictures in the attachment, file called 12 and 13,

after I complete the projection, I found in the software along with the World of Topo 5400 x2700. Raw, enlarged picture because it changes in pixels and the national border appears not coincide, many pixels and borders in the image are very mess,

pls check the no.12 pictures, it is I want to end up with results.

I would like to know how to make. Raw and country boundaries more accurately overlap or is it a problem of the design of the software itself. thanks a lot.

Best Regards

Daniel

Hello,

I’m not daan but what I can say about your image 12:
You need to use high-resolution databases (both image and vector) if you want to map a small part of the earth.

I can’t remember what databases come with which license of Geocart, but you’ll find high-res data that work great with Geocart at
http://www.naturalearthdata.com/downloads/
(“Large scale data” section)
If you use raster images and vector data (i.e. coastlines, national borders etc.) of the same section, they fit perfectly.

Regarding the vector data, also take a look at Geocart’s menu Map -> Vector Generalization.
