How they are clear? You used "a pseudocylindric or lenticular projection" to mean "Strebe-".daan wrote:No. They are clear. If you have something specific to ask, then ask.Piotr wrote:Umm. Then explain the words I marked bold

The effect is the same regardless of which projection you use from those classes.

Re: Recentering infinite projections idea
I don't think so. Moving a pole from infinity to border is not the same as moving a pole from border to border.daan wrote:« shrug » The effect is the same.Piotr wrote:Umm. this thread is about recentering infinite projections!daan wrote:The effect is the same regardless of which projection you use from those classes.

Re: Recentering infinite projections idea
I’m not sure what you think the essential difference is. How the pole is represented before recentering—whether stretched into a line, placed off at infinity, or given as a point—has no bearing on what happens to it when you recenter. It seems you used the technique in order to show the pole when it otherwise would not be visible. I merely point out that you can use the same technique for other purposes, such as giving a nearly equatorial aspect that preserve Antarctica without interruption.

"in order to show the pole when it otherwise would not be visible" is not the same as "for other purposes, such as giving a nearly equatorial aspect that preserve Antarctica without interruption".
Re: Recentering infinite projections idea
I commented on a different use for the same technique that you originally posted about. Now you obtusely inform me that a different use is not the same as your use.
