Overlap for globe gores

Post by Martin »

When cutting out paper globe gores it is a bit easier if the map spills over a little beyond the edges of each gore, so no slivers of white turn up on the finished globe. 2 degrees is plenty.
For example it would be great if there was the option of lining up 12 gores that were 34 degrees wide each. Having that option would lessen my processing time considerably for making a set of gores.
Thanks. Martin

Thanks for the comments, Martin.

This is one of my own top wants. When it finally appears, it’ll be much more general than just bleed for gores (—gosh, that sounds morbid). I actually built infrastructure into Geocart 3.0 for this purpose but there’s a lot that needs to be hooked up in order for it to play well with all the rest of Geocart’s functionality.

Best,
