Hello,
In the manual you mention 2 files that are supposed to be in the /Library/Application Support/Mapthematics/Geocart/Version 3/
Sample Documents folder (Sample.metric.txt and GeocartLayers.jsx)
I can't find them there. I have installed Geocart 3.1.0
Is there some place online from where I can download them.
Thanks
Willem van den Goorbergh
missing files
Re: missing files
Hello Willem.
I cannot explain why you do not have those files. If you select Sample Documents... from the Help menu, do you see the example documents titled “Example 1” through “Example 16”?
You can download those files here:
http://www.mapthematics.com/Downloads/G ... rs.jsx.zip
http://www.mapthematics.com/Downloads/S ... ic.txt.zip
Apologies for the trouble.

Re: missing files
Just for the record, I downloaded and installed Geocart 3.1, version »Mac OS 10.5–10.10« (running on OS X 10.8.5) a few months ago, and those files are missing on my system, too. In fact, the »Sample Documents« folder is completely empty.daan wrote: I cannot explain why you do not have those files.
A while back, I already realized that I wasn’t able to reproduce the steps given in the »Small-scale, high resolution raster reprojection« section of the manual, because the file Sample Documents/MCR0001_circumpolar_2008.jpg was missing. But I just thought: »Oh, well, probably those files are omitted intentionally in the Demo version…«
But now, reading this thread (what I didn't do before) – could it be that something went wrong in building the demo version mentioned above?
Kind regards,
Tobias
Re: missing files
The demo version is definitely missing a lot, including all the sample files. That’s not to trip up anyone. It’s to keep the download to a feasible size.

Aah, okay, so my first assumption was right.
And, in order to avoid any possible misunderstanding: Of course when I said they were »omitted intentionally«, I was talking about the download file size, not implying that this was done to trip anybody up.
