GC is in fact warning me when it should if I accidently make an extremely large map (map resolution, boundaries, etc), but it does so 5 minutes into the process rather than up front. I wish it would be upfront.
Sometimes when I change the natural scale of the map, it would result in a very large map. This usually results from me typing in an absurd number. Clumsy fingers. GC is trapping for this, but doing so too far down the line. The processors are not over heating, it just kinda sits there for a long while not doing much.
Screenshots attached to email. I was changing the leading 9 to a 5. But maybe I changed the leading two 99s to a 5, not sure. This has happen'd to me a couple times.
